Relaying for externals user throug internal Exchange

Hello!

If there is only a simple firewall (port filtering) used with the Microsoft Exchange server, external user are able to authorize fom Outlook to Exchange and send mails throug the Exchange server (relay) to the internet.

How can we do that with Astaro?
An external user wants relay mails through Astaro forward to the internal Exchange and back to some recipients in ther internet

  • Hi, Helmut, and welcome to the User BB!

Does the external user have an account on your Exchange server, or are you talking about a Distribution Group on Exchange or?

    Cheers - Bob

  • Hello!

Yes the external users have an account ont he Exchange Server.
  • If the Exchange server already sends and receioves mails correctly, then you don't need to worry about the SMTP Proxy configuration.  You only need to allow the client to connect with Exchange.

There are severall ways to do this.  If the person is a member of your organization, then you might want to provide access via VPN.  The simplest for the user is to configure for Outlook acccess using RPC over HTTP.  What would you like to do?

    Cheers - Bob
