SMTP Stop Responding

I've ASG 220 the SMTP is Enabled but the problem sometimes it's not responding (HANGING)

i've to restart the ASG to working fine

is there any way to restart the SMTP Proxy without restart the appliance i mean from the SSH can I restart the SMTP service

  • You can restart the SMTP Proxy in WebAdmin; just Disable then Enable again.

    But, that shouldn't happen.  Can you see anything in the packet filter log or the Intrusion Prevention log?

    I know that I can disable it from the web admin but still doesn't work.

    it is working only if i restart the appliance.

    it seems that the SMTP Proxy is damaged or corrupted
  • Have you tried flushing the DNS cache?

    In addition to checking the IPS and Packet Filter logs, check to see if something is in the SMTP log each time the hangup occurs.

    Also, please say/show exactly what you see when there's a hangup.
