Exchange Configuration

Hi,

How should I configure My Astaro with use of an Exchange server that is behind it, using POP connectors and SmartHosts? Basically these settings allow you to use an external e-mail server to stage your mail and then you connect to the POP and SMTP and bring it into your Exchange this way.

Do I still use POP3 Proxy in Astaro?
Do I use Prefetch mode?

My goal is to have My Astaro scrub the e-mails before they hit my Exchange server, like what a Barracuda would do or a Sonicwall appliance.

Thanks,
Mike

  • Use the SMTP Proxy, not the POP3.  On the 'Routing' tab, choose to route by 'Static host list' and add a host definion for your Exchange server to the static host list.

On the 'Relaying' tab, put that definition into 'Allowed hosts/networks' in 'Host-based relay'.
