Greylisting - time for delivery and config

Apropos of this, I'm aware that the retry delay is the responsibility of the sending server, but I would like to see more configurability at the Astaro end, so that the various delays:

• duration of the initial block
  
• timeout for retransmission
  
• retention period after last successful connection
  

could be tweaked if needed.

I don't think there's anything to tweak since there is no initial block, only a one-time rejection with an invitation to try again.

All three delays I mentioned could potentially need tweaking in some instances.  From the online help,

This triplet causes the e-mail to be rejected for a period of five minutes. After that time the triplet is known to the proxy and the message will be accepted when it is sent again. Note that the triplet will expire after a week if it is not updated within this period.

Suppose the upstream MTA has an initial retry delay of two minutes.  It will get rejected twice more before Astaro's five-minute block expires, and depending on its configuration, it might impose an extra delay before retrying a third time - a delay that could potentially have been avoided if the initial block were shorter.

And if a similar email arrives ten days from now, we'll go through the whole dance again because the triplet expired after a week.

In contrast, my mail server's greylist defaults are to initially block for 30 seconds and expire unused triplets after 120 days, but those are both user-configurable.  (It also doesn't automatically whitelist the triplet after the initial block expires; it only does so if it actually receives a retry with 24 (configurable) hours.)

I see now; you would want a way to change the 5 mins and the week.  I don't think the Astaro expires triplets that have been confirmed - it deletes a triplet if no new delivery attempt is made in "5 mins
