E-Mail Encryption with domain certificate

Hi,

we have a asg 425 using e-mail encryption with s-mime. So far so good.

Now we want to send encrypted mails to a company which does not has a x509 certificate for each user, but has only one domain certificate for all users.

This company does not sign the mails. They only encrypt with their domain certificate.

This domain certificate is exposed for the e-mail adress zertifikat@example.com
The users email adress ist f.e. tom@example.com or jerry@example.com

How can I handle this with my astaro?

Markus

  • This is a great question.  I'll be interested to see the results of your experiment.  I'm a bit pessimistic though since I think the certs are managed on the basis of the email address.

  • I don't believe this will work.  I would start a case with Astaro Support to confirm this.
