I think it’s been a couple weeks that our organization has been experiencing a change with Astaro’s method of reporting. There are two of us that do the local tech administration, and neither of us made a change to the Astaro v7 gateway, so we don’t know what would need to be modified to change it back to the twice per day reporting.
We had configured using [Mail Security -> Quarantine Report -> Global] the twice-per-day spam summary reports to run at 8am and 12pm. These were sent to each email address, it gave a link to release each individual email. This has worked for the past couple years, but suddenly it stopped working and individual reports are now being generated.
With the individual reports, the message does arrive in the email inbox immediately, but gives no means to release that assumed-to-be-spam message. It inserts the message defined on [Management -> Customization -> SMTP / POP3 Proxy -> POP3 message blocked]. The message can be anything, such as "You've been spammed (we think). Contact so-and-so to release your message."
So, because the message entered on [POP3 message blocked] happens to be what each user is receiving for any spam that is filtered, I am assuming that the daily (or twice daily) reports are being ignored in favor of the immediate reports.
When I checked the Astaro Security Gateway v7.405, I did not see anywhere on [Mail Security -> Quarantine Report -> Global] to configure the reports that are sent (aside from disabling / enabling), so I don’t see why those two reports are not being sent at all (but the individual message quarantine notifications are being sent instead). It would make sense to me if those reports had been disabled, but it's showing the "green light," indicating that the reports should be run.
Did some bug happen which was caused by the most recent Astaro update (7.405)? In the meanwhile, is there a way to fix this?
