Locked out of email

Where are your mailboxes?  What tool are you using to access them - browser? - client?

The original mail boxes are on our linux server on qmail, but proxied on our Astaro server.

I am checking them via a program called Mailwasher which kind of reads them and marks them as spam so you can delete the spam before your mail client actually downloads them. But if for some reason I would stop downloading mid way through, then I would be locked out for like 10 minutes and couldn't start the download for 10 minutes.

I'm sure it's clear to you [;)] Is your Linux server inside or outside the Astaro?  Is the Astaro between your cient and your mail server?  If Astaro is handling anti-spam, then why are you using Mailwasher?  Is Mailwasher on the Linux server, or is it a sort of client on the other side of the Astaro from your linux server?

Linux server is outside astaro. Astaro is bebween my client and the mail server. Astaro is handling the anti spam but mailwasher is usefull for a further layer of filtering but also to check if messages that astaro tagged as spam are actually spam (do you understand what Mailwasher does). Mailwasher is like an email client that you run before running your email client just to look at the email messages to see if they are spam (it doesn't store the messages at all just shows you what is in your in box and checks them for spam)

With your other post, I wonder if you aren't having some kind of hardware issue.  What happens if you turn off the mail proxy - do you still see such hang-ups?  The problems you're having are unusual, so lots of questions are still unclear.
