Does the emailing of events only work if you have an internal SMTP server?

I put in a valid POP3 email, but they just bounce.  For all of these emails, do I have to have my own SMTP server? Or can I just point it to my ISP email that uses SMTP (I think) to move mail around? Or is there some other setting I need to apply?

Thanks,

C68

  • OK. I will give that a try. (I will use my Verizon account email.)

BAlfson , I was trying to figure out how to do exactly that...

While I am on the subject of SMTP servers... If I were to run a SMTP server in my home, but it isnot  using a real domain like astaro.org, is there a way "relay" my verizon email to my SMTP server?

    Thanks,

    C68
  • No, it's likely that Verizon has an SPF record and that anyone with decent anti-spam would bounce your emails.
