Hi,
I'm trying to setup the SMTP & POP3 settings with Exchange 2007. Our current configuration uses WinProxy where all smtp emails are sent from, and we use Outlook to pull down our POP3 emails externally. I would like to get this all in house using the ASG v.7.401 and Exchange 2007.
I have two NIC cards currently configured one for the internal IP and one for the external IP with multiple IP addresses associated to it. Should I add a third NIC card for starters to handle just email and OWA?
Also, can someone tell me how to configure the settings in ASG to allow mail from mail.domain_name.com to hit the ASG box then forward to the exchange server and vice versa?
Here are some of the questions I have:
1. Do I need to reconfigure the smarthost on the exchange server?
2. Create internal DNS records? if so, what? smtp.domain_name.com, pop.domain_name.com, mail.domain_name.com?
3. Install a third NIC card for mail services only?
4. Can I delete the current Outlook client configurations for external email(pop3)?
thanks in advance
