So I'm a bit confused. I've setup OpenLDAP which works to auth users to allow relay through the Astaro Security/Mail gateway appliance. Under the following:
Users -> Authentication
There are a few options:
Create Users Automatically [x]
Automatic user creation for facilities:
[x] End-User Portal
[x] SMTP Proxy
(those are my settings)
Now I also have:
Mail Security -> SMTP -> Relaying:
[x] Allow Authenticated relaying
Under the Global settings for Create User Automatically it states:
When this option is activated, the system will automatically create user objects whenever an unknown user successfully authenticates to a backend mechanism.
I would assume that its basically saying when you try to auth a user that is not under the users but exists under your LDAP or external auth (ie, edirectory, AD, radius, so on) that it will create the account on the astaro appliance to allow that user to auth and relay.... This is not the case. I've been able to successfully manually setup an email account and auth against the backend which works. But I have over 3000 Email addresses and want it to auto populate on authentication like it kind of expresses that it does. Anyone know what needs to be done in order to acomplish this?
