[7.402]Prefetch doesn't work for all pop3 servers

Hi

I've followed Monarch's post with regards to pop3 filtering. I've set all the pop3 servers,I created pf rules, I've created the users with all the emails and i've configure them via the user portal (pic attached). However, according to the log only 3 of the prefetch accounts work

For some reason not all account work.Any ideas?

PS: two out of 3 accounts that work are defined under the Users » Users as primary emails

    There is no need to enter your mail-addresses in the user settings to get prefetch working. Prefetch will even work without entering the accounts in enduser-portal. You only need the pop3 servers. Are all non-working accounts on another server? I assume there is something wrong with the packet filter because the other accounts don't appear in the log at all.

    The lines you show are both for accounts on your Greek email provider.  Are they working, or not working?

    Do the accounts in your email client connect correctly when you allow access via packet filter with the POP3 proxy disabled?

    @frickler, the pf is defined as: private_Lan->Email ports-->email ,where Email ports are the ports needed (pop,imap,smtp etc)
     and email hasthe address of all pop,smtp servers (pop.gmail.com,smtp@gmail.com,pop3.live.com etc )

    The scenario is: I have two users. Each user has 4/5 email addresses. It seems that prefetch only works for the primary email of those two users and not the aliases. For example, I've checked the pop log today and there is no gmail/hotmail entry in it despite the fact that all there servers are defined (see attached pictures above)

    PS I am able to see only the primary email addresses for the 2 users under the top email recipients

    Hi,
    my understanding is the current pop3 proxy will not work with gmail. Gmail uses the secure pop3 protocol and the current pop3 proxy doesn't know what to do with it.

    Things to check are your timeouts on each account. If you are using outlook there are two places to set the time for retries. make sure your retry time is longer than your prefetch time.

    The pop3 protocol isn't aware of mail addresses, the mapping of addresses to pop3-accounts is done by your provider. As Ian already said, gmail doesn't work with the proxy because it uses secure pop3. Same applies to hotmail.

    thanks guys. In that case the rest of the pop accounts I have work fine.Do you know if in the future POP3 SSL will be supported?
