Is Email Encryption All or Nothing

Is Astaro email encryption all or nothing?  In other words if I have a user and I set up that user for email encryption, are all of their messages encrypted?  Is there some way for the user to selectively encrypt emails?  Such as to a specific domain or email address?  I know some systems only encrypt the message if you put ENCRYPT in the subject line.  Is that type of selectivity possible here, or do I separate users for encrypted and unencrypted outgoing email.

Thanks,
Chris

  • Hi,
I would love to see that feature also... but as far as I know it is not possible this time [:(]
  • The Astaro won't encrypt an email unless it has the public key or a cert for the recipient.  It will automatically sign with your key or cert  If I understand correctly, it will automatically (if so configured) "capture" a cert or public key from a signed email, and subsequently encrypt emails to that address.

So, I  think the answer to your question is, "It only works like that."

    Cheers - Bob
