"moved to work queue"

Guys,

if I'm seeing this in smtp.log, where in $deity's name are those mails to be found? Nowhere? /var/chroot-smtp/spool/something?

We had an issue with both our firewalls (7.304 at that time), one of them keeping _only_some_ mails without notifying or showing them in the mail manager (which looks strangely rotten, not updating the view, etc.)

The only reason to believe that one of them was hiding some mails were the uncompleted "moved to work queue" lines.

Updating to 7.306 and rebooting seemed to have helped, but I still don't know what happened.

  • This sounds like the relevant PostgreSQL database needs to be reindexed.  Search here on postgresql reindex and try that.  In the worst cases, you have to reinitialize the database, but, in a production machine, I would prefer to have Astaro support handle that.

    This sounds like the relevant PostgreSQL database needs to be reindexed.  Search here on postgresql reindex and try that.  In the worst cases, you have to reinitialize the database, but, in a production machine, I would prefer to have Astaro support handle that.


    I tried that, ended up with an error in "accounting_pkey":
    -- snip --
    ERROR:  could not create unique index "accounting_pkey"
    DETAIL:  Table contains duplicated values.
    -- snap --

    Though, this is accounting, not mail - I still have no idea where to look for the "work queue" and their loitering emails.
