SMTP expression filter

I have set up an expression filter that filters 2 words, yet the email is still sent. ****** and ***

I have no exceptions set up for myself.

When I receive the email it contains the Virus Scan attachment that Astaro inserts.

Any other reason it would still be allowed to go thru?

I am using v 7.305

    Hi Bob,

    POP3 works fine. I get an email from Astaro stating the email was blocked due to expression.

    But SMTP allows the message to be sent.

    Which is all well and good if I want to prevent myself from telling myself to F-Off, lol. But wont prevent me from telling a customer to do the same.

    I sent you my email via PM to test it anyway .

    Is the problem that we dont host our email and I am using a SmartHoost to relay SMTP ?

    Clean and dirty messages sent.

    On the 'Relaying' tab of "Mail Security >> SMTP Proxy', have you checked the box for 'Scan relayed (outgoing) messages' at the bottom of the page?

    I don't know if it's the SmartHost.  The SMTP Proxy captures traffic on port 25, so if you're communicating to the SmartHost via port 25, it shouldn't make any difference.  What client are you using to send email?

    I got both Bob.
    As the only filter on the POP3 side is V I A G R A  (without spaces).

    I have the scan relayed checked.
    You should have also received an attachment stating that in my reply.

    Is the Live Log: Spam Scanner suppose to show any activity?
    As I have nothing but a blank window, and even though I get emails that things were flagged as spam it doesnt look like anything is happening.

    I haven't watched the spam scanner.  Maybe one of the Astaro folks can tell us what it looks at.

    I'll send you another email with the blue pill mentioned.

    What Client are you using?

    It was blocked via POP3
    I replied using the blocked page and added the word V I A G R A.
    I then release the blocked email and replied back.

    You should not receive the blocked emails if the SMTP scanner is scanning.

    But I am going to guess you do.

    Since I havent gotten any replies, I am going to assume that the "expression filter" for SMTP doesnt work and that there is a problem with the SPAM scanner "live log" since it doesnt show any activity.

    I will open a support ticket, and post back any relevant details.

    BTW who do I call? Astaro or the peeps that sold it to me, LOL.
