i've searched the whole internet on this problem and i can't figure out what's going on. Hopefully you can help me out as the experts on astaro.
I've configured a mailserver (HMailserver) in DMZ behind astaro 7.305 (connected to the internet by pppoa).
Internal address 192.168.16.3
Mailserver is listening on port 2525 (this because port 25 is blocked by the ISP). In astaro there's a DNAT rule configured like:
Any->SMTP2525->External (Address)->SMTP2525->Mailserver
And a masquarade rule like:
DMZ(Network)->External(Interface)
Inbound traffic is relayed over an external smtp server, which forwards traffic to port 2525. On the Astaro box, smtp-proxy is disabled (i don't need it, virus-filtering, spam-filtering and open-relay blocking is done by the mailserver itself)
Mail delivery "seems" to work perfectly, the external smtp server forwards traffic to the astaro box (external ip), astaro forwards it to the mailserver, and the mailserver requests the external server to send data (the actual e-mail data). The external smtp forwards the actual data but then... all stalls.
No e-mail is delivered to the mailserver and the external smtp-server tries again to get the e-mail delivered.
The stupid thing is, that when i connect the mailserver directly to the internet (e.g. the astaro-box removed between mailserver and the world outside) the whole mail delivery proces succeed pefectly and i actually get e-mail delivered to the server.
