Can you send forward mail to multiple hosts?

We currently use Astaro forwarding to a single Exchange server.

We want to trial something like Scalix or Zimbra, and was hoping we could get Astaro to direct mail to multiple hosts, is this possible at all? I tried entering 2 hosts in the "static host list", but it just tried the 1st (which failed) then moved onto the 2nd.

    The Astaro SMTP Proxy can only forward to a single host.  What about a trial of Scalix or Zimbra do you want to test with the Astaro?

    You can add a connector to exchange to pass on all incoming email. That is a trick of exchange and you need to search the internet for that. I only know of the existence.

    For testing purposes, the easiest way might be to forward out of Exchange for particular users or accounts.  It's relatively simple to set up.

    You can flat file forward Exchange accounts to one of your test servers.  Each forward you config is a separate setup which takes a couple of minutes.  Easy enough to do, say, 10 accounts. Setting up 100 would be a pain.

    You could also set up a separate mail domain on the ASG which you redirect to your new mail server (Scalix or Zimbra) by using smtp profiles. That way you can easily test your mail functionality without any changes on the exchange infrastructure.

    Thanks, Andi, you have just filled a big hole in my knowledge of Astaro.  It never made sense to me that one could only address a single mail server, but I saw that comment somewhere and never examined it.  Your suggestion is exactly correct.
