Hi!
I'm running ASG 7.203 (or is it 204? Whatever the latest is…). I have it up and running perfectly…Except for SMTP/POP3 filtering. I searched through here before, and again now (before as in about a month ago or so…?) but no luck with my problem, so now I think I can post…? Trusting someone will kindly point me to an existing solution if one exists [:)]
Otherwise…Here's my questions:
I don't have an email server running in my network, but I was hoping I could scan/filter my email from my ISP - is that possible with ASG? I tried specifying my ISP mail server and username/password but things weren't working. I admit it's been a while since I tried this and I can't recall exactly the process I went through to try all this stuff out (for smpt/pop3 that is), so maybe it's a silly mistake (usually is I find!). My question is, if I don't have an email server running in my network, can I still utilize ASG's capabilities for this, or should I venture off into getting myself an email server (I have experience setting up Exchange and administering it, but I'd like to try another product - open source preferebly due to cost).
So, I'd also like to know, if this is possible without email server on my network, can someone point me (or provide me roughly) what I need to do? High level instruction/info is fine, I can figure it out if I have a bread crumb trail to work with ;o)
Thanks for any help/input! ASG kicks butt so far - I love it!!!
