At the moment I have recipient checking turned off, I would like to see what my options are for getting it working in our environment.
We use lotus notes for our email, and have about 16 different domains that are mapped on to the primary domain. but the email is routed via an smtp gateway before it hits the notes servers which double checks for spam and viruses and it does not know who a valid recipient is until it trys to pass it on to the notes servers.
We also have most email addresses in Active directory, but only the primary domain. So looking up against AD is no good as the email would be valid for any of the 16 domains. Even if that could be resolved, how do I handle groups & aliases?
I haven't looked at this in any depth, is there some way of making recipient checking work?
