in the spam digest, if it is categorised as spam, it does not give you the option to whitelist it or report it as a false positive, if it has got it wrong.
If the user receiving the spam digest is not defined as a user on the Astaro, they will not be able to whitelist an email (it assigns the whitelist to that particular user).

Bruce, you don't mean the Astaro only keeps that for local users, do you? Shouldn't he be able to use LDAP or AD to establish a backend group and achieve the result he wants?
