Hello,
I'm not even sure this problem is with the ASG220, and am hoping that maybe someone else has reports of this issue. I've submitted a support ticket and will update this as I receive word.
When we upgraded to version 7.300 in late August, odd things began to happen with outgoing email messages.
The recipient would get an email which was blank. The text and/or attachments were not passed along.
It is random and not associated with the domain at the receiving end. Sometimes they would be fine, sometimes not. The sending client is also varied. Not the same persons or client software are involved.
Log files on both the Astaro product and the email server simply show the passage of the emails and look correct, but don't show any info about the data field part of the email to determine when it disappears.
It's becoming more and more of an issue and I have no idea where to begin to troubleshoot it. The only thing I can think of is to put a sniffer at multiple points (pre and post Astaro firewall) to capture the email traffic and verify if/when the data gets dropped. This seems very impractical due to the volume of email traffic and the randomness of the problem.
I thought perhaps that the most recent upgrade to 7.301 might fix the problem, but it did not.
I have reduced all anti-spam filtering to have it do nothing with any emails except to "tag" them as spam. No quarantines or removing of data options are currently in place.
Any ideas?
Lou
