False "undelivered messages"

When I use the admin portal to Astaro, the POP3 shows a few hundred undelivered emails. However, that is not true. I had turned on the double-pass anti-virus for email and Astaro got confused. Apparently, the "remove from server" messages from the email clients to the remote email server were never recognized by Astaro. The messages were removed on the server but Astaro has keep them and resends them when I check email. I've tried the user portals as a way to flush these stored messages, no go. How can I force Astaro to flush all those stored messages?

    What is a "remove from server" message?
    Did you update from 7.2xx or is it a new installation?
    Is your pop3-server specified in POP3-Advanced?
    Is prefetch-mode enabled?

    "remove from server" means the email client deletes the message from the remote server. Sloppy use of language on my part. Sorry for the confusion.

    I looked at the POP3 list and it was corrupted. IIRC, all this started last month when Earthlink was doing something to their email. Other users in other locations who don't go through this Astaro box also had problems. I cleared the list and disabled pre-fetch. Voila! the "stuck" pre-fetch messages disappeared. They were not on the remote server so, I assume, Astaro didn't "see" a kill message so they stayed in the buffer. Thanks for making me think about those settings.

    Manually added the pop3 servers and turned pre-fetch back on. Everything seems to be working properly now.
