Blacklisting (maybe a feature request?!?)

Hi All,

First things first, I think the mail improvements in 7.300 are tremendous.  I really really like how this works now and whoever wrote the mail manager needs a pat on the back.  Personally, 7.300 seems to be stable, fast, less resource-hungry than earlier releases of version 7 and webmin seems to run so much faster.

Question: my organisation is getting harrased by an individual by email.  We can blacklist the sender's email address and this is working fine.  However, rather than these mails dropping into a black hole, we would like to be able to divert them elsewhere (ie the intended recipient is not aware that they were received) as they could form the basis of legal action.  Is there a way to do this?  If there isn't, could this be considered as a feature request for the next version?

    Stuart, do you need to have the actual content of the emails?  The SMTP Proxy logs provide proof an email arrived, so maybe you could use those.

    Would you want a way to select quarantine or reject for blacklist and expression filter?

    Or, would this be a new type of Exception?

    In our case, yes.  Because we are a law enforcement agency, we can't really stop someone from contacting us (there's always this risk that they might legitimately need to contact the organisation).  For us it is preferable for an admin to receive the email and check the content, and then forward to the intended recipient using our internal mail system, or forward to our legal people if it is not legitimate.

    Well I don't know what works best for Astaro from an engineering point of view, but what I envisaged is that you add an entry under the SMTP/anti-spam/sender blacklist address option and then there is a dropdown that gives you a choice of how to deal with mails matching each pattern - such as bounce, quarantine for intented recipient, delete/blackhole or redirect (where admin can enter an address for the mail to be forwarded to).
