Lowest MX redord points to localhost

For the past 12 hours or so, I've had a buildup of incoming SMTP messages in the queue under Novell Security Manager (ASL) 6.313. The reason for the holdup is:

...R=dnslookupdefer (-1):lowest numbered MX record points to localhost
*** Frozen

Naturally, the lowest numbered MX record points to localhost, as the mail server is located behind the ASG, and is configured for the same public IP. The domain is configured to transfer mail directly to the server, and *not* via MX, i.e., I have the mail server's name specified as host, and not simply "per MX."

I am able to release these from quarantine manually, and once I started doing so, it seems that some new outside messages have been able to make their way in. I'm wondering whether we got an update to something last night which might have caused this. It looks like the problem started right around 21:55 EDT last evening (18 August). Even internal messages from the box itself got held up in this mess.
