per domain profiles

Hi all
 
I believe i need to set up a per domain profile to enable a sharepoint server - which is in DMZ - to be able to send outgoing emails.  I do not have an smtp server in this DMZ and am trying to see if I can get our domain hosting company or internet provider to allow us to use an SMTP relaying service.  Guessing that this will then use a smart host. I have set up rules to allow only 8443 (for https) and port 25 to access this dmz
 
Our internal lan does have an exchange server running and the current config of astaro works fine with this.
 
Am I along the right lines with setting up a per domain profile and if yes can i add the smart host for the per domain profile only.

    I believe those profiles are for incoming connections only so you won't be able to add a smart host. So if you wanted to run a backup mx, you would add per domain profile to forward the mails to a different mail server, other than your primary exchange server. 

    You can however  write rules to allow your sharepoint server to directly access your hosting company bypassing the astaro proxy. Otherwise smarthost settings are global and will apply to any server that is relaying through your proxy.
