I've used smarthost for some time. And, for the most part it works.
But, lately it seems to fail more often than it works and I'm not sure why. This is a home system and I don't have an internal mail server, so I use smarthost. When I first set this up, I have a dummy IP address in place for an internal mail server.
From the log, I see..
2008:04:18-15:11:49 (none) cffd[32723]: id="101Q" severity="info" sys="SecureMail" sub="smtp" name="email scanned, clean" srcip="127.0.0.1" from="@" to="mike@******xx.net" subject="va3mw.***xip.net Mail delivery failed : returning message to sender" messageid="4635" size="3999" action="pass"

Thoughts? Why do I have to set up an internal mail server if I am using smarthost to connect to my ISP?
