import user details from ldap fails

Hi all,

I have configured an ldap user database backend, and see that when my users logon the first time, astaro automatically creates new imported users. So this works.

However, none of the details of the ldap users are imported: no full name, no email addresses, nothing, except the username itself.

The problem is, that when my users login the end user portal, they have no email addresses configured for their account, and therefore don't see any of their quarantined mails...

Does anyone else see this behaviour?

    No replies at all... meaning..

    * this works without a problem for everybody, and I should investigate my own setup more carefully?

    * not many people are using this feature, and therefore notice this problem?

    * or we all know it, but we don't talk about it..? ;-)

    Hi Mourik,

    My users couldn't login in to the end user portal even i did the every single steps to authenticate them via ldap. Could you please give me the details how did you do it?

    Hi,

    I went to 'Users', 'Authentication'.

    There under:
    * 'LDAP' added the details for my ldap server
    and under 
    * 'Global settings' I checked 'Create users automatically'

    Does this work for you?

    But I still have my original problem, that Astaro does NOT seem to import anything from ldap, it does create a new user, but doesn't update any details from ldap.

    Please, nobody sees this?

    I'm using Zimbra as a mail server and it's default configuration is make ldap open to the public. I can reach it via command line with ldap search but i can't make the end user portal authenticate via that ldap server. I tried the base dn parameters as stated but can't authenticate over the end user portal.


    ldapsearch -x -h 77.79.yy.xx

    gives the below output for a user on the zimbra backend

    # ismail.gencan, people, company.net.tr
    dn: uid=ismail.gencan,ou=people,dc=company,dc=net,dc=tr
    zimbraMailTransport: lmtp:mail.company.net.tr:7025
    zimbraMailDeliveryAddress: ismail.gencan@company.net.tr
    zimbraId: cedc9a58-3097-41fa-ad9f-82823dcaaaf0
    zimbraMailStatus: enabled
    mail: ismail.gencan@company.net.tr
    uid: ismail.gencan
    objectClass: organizationalPerson
    objectClass: zimbraAccount

    cn: ismail.gencan
    zimbraMailHost: mail.company.net.tr
    sn: Gencan
    givenName: Ismail



    And i use the bind dn parameter as 


    dc=company,dc=net,dc=tr

    also tried the combination

    ou=people,dc=company,dc=net,dc=tr


    but no authentication. What am i doing wrong?
