How to save and restore the smtp proxy content ?

Hello,

we are running a system with Astaro 6.2xx and want to upgrade to v. 7.***.

My problem is that we are running smtp spam protection with the daily spam digest enabled (Messages are stored for 5 days).

Is there a possibility to take over these emails to the new Astaro 7.*** system? And would the old daily spam digest "release link" still work?

Thanks for any suggestions.

With kind regards,
Tobias

  • It's not possible to move those quarantined emails over; the architecture has changed significantly in the SMTP Quarantine function (for the better).  The release link will be different, but since it is generated by the Astaro when it builds the SPAM reports, that's not a problem.

  • Not sure if you've upgraded already, but I have done this step before.

Let's say your V6 astaro is on 192.168.1.1.
You want your new V7 astaro to be on 192.168.1.1 instead.

If you change the URL to 192.168.1.2 in the release link just prior to moving your old astaro, it will email out the report at night with 192.168.1.2.
Leave your V6 astaro running for 1-2 days afterwards on 192.168.1.2.
Then when users try and click the link from that day's spam report, the old content will still be available for them to release.
Then after a day or 2, shut the old astaro down.
