spam report with pop3 only not possible ?

I don't have a smtp server (I use pop3) and I would like to have the user spam report sent to the different users. Is there a way to do it without having an internal smtp server ? I have the same problem with astaro notifications that I can't send to a pop3 address, it seems that Astaro needs an internal  smtp server in order to be able to send notifications. Is there a way do do it differently using only pop3 ?

    if you are using pop3 with prefetching mode, than your pop3 user are able to receive the 'user spam report' automatically, if a email has been blocked.
    You don't need a smtp server for that.

    The POP3 Proxy only works if you use not encrypted pop3 on port 110.

    Notifications are different, they need to always be to an SMTP server, but this one does not need to be internal, you can also send these to your gmail account and use pop3 to receive it again, a little detour, but it works.

    I was using s/pop3 on port 995, because I can't seem to be able to get emails from the prefetch cache using port 110. It also seems that my astaro has problems sending emails (either for the user report or for notifications). If I understand your answer correctly, I suppose that Astaro has it's own SMTP server so it does not require an outside smtp server in order to be able to send user spam reports. Is there something else I should do in order to let it send emails ? Do I have to specifically allow in packet filtering the smtp service to go from the wan address to "any" or is it implicit ? are there any other configurations I should do ? 
    Concerning notifications, where do I specify which smtp server he should use ?

    You don't need to do anything for the ASG to send out its e-mail messages.

    The ASG does not send the messages straight away, there usually is a wait, mine has a number of messages which varies between 1 and about 10, depending what has gone wrong or activities that I have asked to be advised of.

    There will always be a wait between pop3 messages showing in the e-mail section of the ASG menu and the delivery to your PC/workstaion. The figures in the menu are also slow to update giving a false impression of messages when they have already been delivered.
