Too Many Concurrent SMTP Connetions

In 6.3 we could turn of the SMTP Connection limit.  Is there a way to do this in V7? Even better would be the option to adjust it.   

Email is taking forever to get through to us because Astaro is indicating too many concurrent SMTP connections.  I'm not sure if there is another way around this or if I should be considering some other way of quickly getting email through.  Let me know if anyone has any ideas on how to get email flowing quickly again.

    Hi,

    i'm having exactly the same issues for quite some days now. Already tried to locate the setting "under the hood" using SSH but was unable to. Any help to increase the maximum amount of concurrent SMTP-Connections would be highly appreciated!

    Are you using Intrusion Protection??  I'm wondering if that wouldn't cut down on my bogus SMTP connections and allow the real guys to send through.  

    I had to take v7 out of production, so I can't test it here.

    Nope, Intrusion Protection is disabled.

    OK - I'll try it over the weekend, when I can put it back in production temporarily.  I'll let you know the results.

    Hi,

    as my customer starts to complain louder every day i gave the Astaro Support of our local Astaro distributor a call yesterday. 

    The response was: The maximum amount of concurrent SMTP-Connections can't be configured in v7.*** (but it was in 6.***), it's fixed to 20 concurrent connections.

    So far they had no solution for me and said they are passing the problem to the astaro support team.

    I'll hope to get a solution fast, just thought i let everyone know!

    I have the same problem.
    Talking to my reseller, and he said exactly the same.
    The Mailer is based on Exim Internet Mailer, and it's limit to 20 connection.
    I have to say that this limitation makes it impossible to work with if you have allot of users.
    I have about 500 users, and allot of them checking the mail while coming home from work.  
    20 concurrent connection limitations make it impossible for me to work with it...
    I hope someone from Astao will read it and come with any solution.

    Hi,

    got an email from my local distributor this morning, Astaro went on my customers Firewall (had to supply passwords for this of course) and increased the amount of concurrent SMTP-Connections from 20 to 40! Seems the problem is gone now!

    Maybe you ask your local distributor again to do the same for you!

    FWIW, I just had to disable DoS protection on one of my 6.311 firewalls, exim had 20 processes open and refusing a lot of mail.

    Currently it's running between 30 and 50 exim processes, it would be nice to be able to change the incoming process limit, 20 is far too limiting with the number of spam bots out there today and with 1GB of memory we shouldn't have any issues running up to 100 exim processes.

    that is too manay for 1 GB ram. 
    because the spamd, cffd, mysql .... processes need to much memory.

    50 is a good limit for the max of smtp connection.

    Hi.

    I have 500 users.

    Sending an attachment from my log.

    It seems to me that 40 is more than enough.
