Email Security

Hi!

I just activated the email encryption and uploaded my personal gnupg private and public key in cleartext as it is stated in the manual. My question now is, how is this supposed to be working? I use an IMAP account at home which can send outgoing email via port 25 or port 465 ssl.

I guess the ssl sending will not work with the email encryption since the traffic to my email provider is encrypted. But even if I send emails via port 25 or in a terminal session by hand via telnet onbto port 25 no emails from me get signed. I have activated the signing feature and also created a user with my email address on the ASL.

Anybody got this working?

Same here...no emails are en/decrypted.

Have it something to do with smtp/pop proxy ?

Hi,

when you want to se email encryption, you must have a email server, and very incoming and outgoing email have to pass the smtp_proxy.

So please setup MX record to your external astaro ip.
Outgoing emails have to be send through smtp_proxy too.

Yep. That is what I thought. But since I am on a home site I do not want to run my own mailserver. I guess I have to stick with my gnupg on client side [;)]
