Moved db folder - need to retrieve quarantined mail

Hi all,

We're running Astaro release 6.3. Yesterday we had a problem where mail was stuck in the outbound queue, this has happened before and the fix I've been told about was to execute a mv db db.bak1 in /var/storage/chroot-smtp/spool. This went fine, I've done it a few times since I've started working with Astaro a few months ago. 

However, today one of our users received the daily digest of suspected spams and was unable to retrieve the e-mails by clicking on the "Click to release" link. Clicking that link brings up:
The message with id 1HbAxs-00047K-2r could not be found in the quarantine. It is possible that is has been released by another person, or it has been deleted in the meantime. 

I'm pretty new to Astaro still, I'm thinking when I did the mv on the db folder, the quarantine went with it. Is there anyway to retrieve those e-mails and get them to the person who needs them?

    This may not have been caused by the move db after all. A few days later there were new e-mails that were quarantined which a user could not retrieve by clicking on the "Click to release" link in the daily digest of suspected spams and receiving the same http page noted in my original post.

    The user is connecting across the Internet to the external interface of the Astaro box. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but in my 6 months working here I hadn't heard of any issues like this up until now.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    I searched on this and found the following post which has a similar log entry, but no resolution: http://www.astaro.org/archive/index.php/t-13866.html In which the author stated the mail would not be in quarantine. If it's not in quarantine, then what happened to it and how can I stop this from happening?

    Ok, I figured out what's going on, but need some advice on fixing it.

    The external user(s) have an Exchange server at their site, we have our Exchange server at our site (seperate domains). The e-mail comes in to our Astaro gateway, the message gets tagged as spam and quarantined. 

    If the e-mail is released from quarantine by the user or myself, it goes to our Exchange server which then forwards it out to the external users Exchange server, once again going through the Astaro smtp proxy after leaving our Exchange server where it gets quarantined again. 

    Is there anything that can be done to have the message not be scanned the second time?
