Spam Report User Setup

To get the daily spam report, does the ASG require that you 'officially' setup users through the webadmin?
Or does it send out reports based on the recipient list on the email that it blocks.  My 4 children each have their own email account and of course spam is getting trapped.

Any insight?

    you need the users to be setup to
    1/. create each user in the user page
    2/. configure each user in the "end user portal"
    3/. access the "end user portal"
    4/. enable "prefetch"
    5/. set your e-mail accounts to maximum time out usually around 9-10minutes

    That should then each user a report and the ability to delete, release etc their own mail (I can't remember if you need the smtp server enabled).

    You do not need to configure users to get the daily spam report.  All pop3 accounts get a daily report. 

    But without users you are not able  to whitelist a sender or to use the user based end user portal to manage  your private quarantine. Only the administrator is able to manage the blocked  messages via QuarantineManager.

    so what you are saying is that the pop3 proxy learns from the requests for e-mail passing through it?
    If I remember correctly you don't get a spam report unless prefetch is enabled?

    Hi Ian,

    sure, prefetch is a precondition to get a spam report. But it is not necessary to configure users.
