suspicious sender @ in top 10 sender list

Hi,

When I look in the email usage section of the daily executive report I always find a sender @. Which I find suspicious: is somebody using it as an open relay?

I can't really find anything in the logfiles of the smtp engine nor in the logfile of my internal mail server.

Anyone else having this problem too? is it a bug in the report?

By the way The SMTP proxy is of coarse configured as:

Tansparant mode: Yes

Host based relay: internal network

Scan relayed outgoing messages: yes

  • These are messages from the astaro itself (notifications, daily spam report etc.) or bounce messages.
Such a message has no "really" sender but for logging and reporting it is defined that a sender has to contain "something@domain.xyz". If sender does not pass a valid "MAIL FROM" header only "@" will be logged or reported.
