ASG7 just as outgoing mailrelay?

In one of the threads not far below this one I have described how to setup the smtp proxy for smart host and relay only.

The proxy might open port 25, but that doesn't mean the users can send mail directly, it is blocked to internal use except to go through the proxy.

Hi Ian,

the configuration is not the problem, it is working already. I was just a little bit confused that port 25 is open on all interfaces, even if i define a rule that should drop all that traffic.

By the way, does the "Anti-Virus" and its settings (especially "Anti-Virus Footer") only affect incoming mails? My outgoing emails did not get footer and attachments with file-extensions listed where sent through the proxy without filtering?!

1/. the problem you have identified is a known bug (identified to and by Astaro) and we are waiting for a fix to be released.
2/. You don't need any packet filter to drop 25 unless you have an internal -> any -> any rule.

1/. hmmm, can't find it in the known issue list. Isn't this an official bug? [;)]
2/. I know that i don't need a drop rule. It was just an (unsuccessful) attempt to close this open door on my internet-interface.

It is identified by koma in one of the threads in this forum if I remember correctly.
