Hi all. Am using 6.303 software. Would appreciate help on the following.
Have defined my Exchange server as a host in network definitions.
My only packet filter rule is internal network to ALL (i.e. the starter rule discussed in the initial setup guide). Nat masquerading is on as per the intial setup guide too. HTTP proxy is on and working re content filtering and virus etc. Have just enabled the SMTP proxy and enabled a) spam filtering b) virus filtering and kept c) outgoing email checking enabled.
1. For mx host name have used the computer name (SBS2003), but not sure if I should use sbs2003.sandhills.local (sandhills.local being my internal domain).
2. What are the differences between routing mode and transparent mode of the proxy? What can do with one and not with the other etc?
3. With the SMTP proxy enabled, do I actually need a packet filter rule for port 25 traffic to route inbound traffic to Exchange or not?
4. I have added domains on the SMTP proxy page (4 of them) and added them to the default profile, using "MX Records" as the routing method. Is this correct?
Answers to these and any other tips on getting the proxy to a) route inbound and outbound emails properly and b) get Astaro to scan them for viruses and spam would be much appreciated, as I have failed to achieve this so far!!!
Thanks
