Spam scanning SMTP vs. POP3

Hi,

I noticed difference in Spam scanning for SMTP and POP3.
For testing I make use of a kind of 'honeypot' account at an external POP server.
This will forward all incoming mail to my internal SMTP server.
This way I can compare the results of scanning done by the SMTP proxy and the POP proxy.
Sometimes those differ a lot.
It seems to me the POP scanner is a bit more accurate.

Some spam doesn't reach the score=3 threshold at the SMTP proxy but it does via POP proxy.
Often this is caused by:
-1.4 ALL_TRUSTED            Passed through trusted hosts only via SMTP

Anyone same experience, or comments?

Mark
