[6.303] SMTP proxy reports "421 Unexpected failure, please try later"

I rebooted my 6.303 system this morning, and ever since the SMTP proxy has been refusing to accept emails - all it reports is "421 Unexpected failure, please try later".  There's nothing written to the SMTP logs and I've tried disabling all the security features I was using (TLS Auth, DoS protection) to no avail.  Is there any way I can get any more reporting out of the SMTP proxy as to what the problem is?
