Spam sender whitelist vs. Trusted senders

Hi all

Can anyone tell me what exactly is the difference between these two? In my mind this is one and the same thing but it obviously isn't.

I need to allow a domain who doesn't pass the sender verification test to send us e-mails but I'm not sure where to put the *@domain.com. I read through the online help but in there it was not clear what the difference is.

    I don't know this for a fact, but I think Spam sender whitelist email are still checked against all of the other methods first (RBL, Deny RCPT Hacks, etc.).  I'm not sure of a field called Trusted senders, but if you're talking about the Global Whitelist Senders, then those emails are not checked against anything.

    Thanks for the reply. You're probably right, although I think then that the documentation should mention this. Actually I can hardly imagine why the "Spam sender whitelist" is there, if senders on that list do go through all the verify checks but not expression and file type filtering. So this is a list of legitimate MMF companies? [:)].

    Anyway, I'll use the "Trusted senders" list (which might be called something else in your version, I have version 5.213) in the future.
