Hi,
How can I tell if the SMTP proxy is successfully forwarding mail to our exchange server. (ASG 6.302 - Exchange 2003 SP2 on SBS 2003 SP1)
Looking at the logs i can see all the traffic from out hosting provider being allowed through. When looking at the SMTP logs I have this in the live log:
2006:09:14-11:35:19 (none) exim[7453]: 2006-09-14 11:35:19 1GNoYw-0001wC-5p Completed
2006:09:14-11:45:56 (none) exim[7660]: 2006-09-14 11:45:56 no host name found for IP address 82.133.20.98
2006:09:14-11:49:12 (none) exim[7705]: 2006-09-14 11:49:12 Start queue run: pid=7705
2006:09:14-11:49:12 (none) exim[7705]: 2006-09-14 11:49:12 End queue run: pid=7705
Nothing is actually getting to the exchange server though.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to what i am looking for to tell me that the SMTP traffic is getting through to the exchange? At least then I will know if it is a problem with the exhcange and not the firewall.
Thanks
