Recipient whitelist - mails still scanned for viruses?

Does anyone know if adding an address to the recipient whitelist will result in the mails not beeing scannes for viruses?

We have a problem with the tokyo office. The spam filter does not like japanese fonts very much. We are considering adding these recipients to the recipient whitelist, but we need to know that the mails will still get scanned for viruses.

Im pretty sure that ALL messages going through the proxy are beeing scanned no matter what, but I need to be absolutely sure before I try.

    I think that they would still be virus scanned.  From the help file:
    "Important Note: Since emails can have many recipients, and the security system implements inline spam-scanning for the SMTP protocol, spam-scanning of an email is skipped for all recipients if one of the email's recipients is listed in the Spam Recipient Whitelist."

    You can test it by sending an eicar virus test file.  It is a safe test but should trigger the virus engine.

    SMTP recipient whitelists
    There are two new whitelist: one in the spam section to exclude recipients from spam check and a global whitelist to exclude recipients from all checks (even from virus scanning):

    So yes the whitelist will bypass virus scanning.
