I want to use Transparent SMTP proxying, as to change my MX would have me down to one MX record, instead of the 3 I have right now (2 from my ISP and they relay to me).
Well, I think I want Transparent. My understanding of Transparent is no changes to DNS. ASL watchs for a port 25 flow, captures it, checks it, tags it, sends it on.
So I enable Transparent SMTP proxy.
Nothing in Domain Groups
Nothing in Profiles and domain group assignments
Feature setting all default (nothing set)
Content filters all disabled
Spam Protection enabled
Threshold 1: 08 WARN
Threshold 2: :[:P]lease select:: Reject (I would ASSUME that T2 is NOT enabled)
SS whitelist empty
SMTP Auth disabled
Advanced Settings
Only Dos protection enabled; all else defaulted.
So NO mail seems to come through to my internal server.
I disable Transparet SMTP proxy and everything starts working again.
OK what have I missed????
