Unable to send mail to specific domain

Many mail servers will only accept mail from known hosts, or from hosts that have a DNS MX record pointing to them. I suspect that at home you are spooling your outgoing mail through your Internet provider's outbound mail server. That way it is your ISP's mail server that sends the mail on to its final destination. Do the same on your Astaro box by turning on the Smarthost feature in the SMTP proxy, and point it at your ISP's outbound mail server.

Hi, that's not the problem. I still can send mail fine trhough astaro to other domains, only not to this domain since yesterday, before that it worked fine.

does anyone know how to force exim to try to send to the domain again ? It appears that exim inmmediately bounces the mail without checking if it can be delivered again.

Normally you find the outgoing mail in the Proxy content manager, and you can select and make a "Force delivery".
If the problem is only with that domain, you can simply mail the postmaster of that domain, using your mail at home, asking the reason your mail are refused.  May be they have wrong configuration on their fw and they can fix the problem.

Hi, contacted the postmaster of the other domain. It appears that they've enabled reverse DNS on their servers and our hostname was not listed in RDNS. However, exim still refuses to deliver mail. Seem that once exim is unable to deliver mail for a long period of time, it immediately bounces and doesn't try again for several days. Mails that can't be delivered in the mean time are immediately bounced. However, I find it a bit weird that ASL doesn't warn me (the postmaster) about such a configuration problem, so I can take the appropriate actions. Now I could only take action after a call from one of my colleagues because of the bounced mail error message. It appears that's it's going on since march 17.

I have the same issue. The recipient email server does a reverse lookup on my domain's MX record and matches it to the source where the email came from and sees that the email is coming from my ASG which is not my MX record. I have worked around it but not sure if it is correct. I enabled transparent mode and added my internal (private) email server to the Skip source/destination networks.
