virus scanner not working after pattern update

hello,

our virus scanner (smtp and pop3 proxies) is not working anymore. as far as i can see this problems started to occur tonight after an automated pattern update. since then the firewall reports that aveserver is not running and has to be restarted. also the smtp log states the following error:

2005:10:25-11:00:13 (none) exim[19937]: 2005-10-25 11:00:13 1EUKfE-0005BZ-QG malware acl condition: weed: scanning failed

the only way for me at this moment to get around this problem is to deactive the virus scanner.

we are using version 5.027.

does anyone know how to fix this? anyone else experiencing this?

    some additional information: the only files that were updated today are: troj013.avc, daily.avc, daily.txt and avp.klb. the updates took place between 10:30 and 11:30. the error exists since about 00:30.

    so there seams to be no direct connection between the updates and the error. but it is obvious that the errors began straight after a pattern update.
