Spam Assassin Setting trusted_networks

Hello All,

I am running AS 6.1 and I noticed that incoming SPAM emails are getting a -1.4 taken off the Spam score because outside networks were considered "trusted" according to spamassassin. I took a look at the config (local.cf) for spamassassin and noticed my local subnets were not listed as "tusted_network". If I change this (which I know will fix my problem) is there any side effects to this? (ie. Do I void my warranty, will the config file ever get overwritten in next release, etc?)

Yes, and probably yes. The next time there is an update to the Spamassassin system, the local.cf file is likely to get overwritten during the Up2Date process (I haven't actually observed Up2Date overwriting it, but I'd keep a backup of any changes made, just in case).

Thanks for the response Doug. So my next question is, is anyone else experiencing the -1.4(or whatever negative offset score) because spam assassin does not know which network is trusted? Or is something hosed? 6.1 is my first release I ran(purchased and installed last week). So I have not upgraded from a prior release.

I'm seeing a -2.8 (on 5.207) for trusted networks. With no trusted networks actually defined, everything seems to be trusted.
