SMTP mail from fw-notify failing because of

DNS lookup block. As from yesterday morning my time, about 0000 UTC, any smtp mail sne tby my firewall to fw-notify is being blocked on the Astaro firewall (mine) due to DNS lookup block.
Why would an ISP of over 500,000 customers be put in a DNS lookup block? Reuslts in all my firewall notifications being blocked at the firewall. Strange?

POP3 mail gets through, but not SMTP.

    Found problem. Some previous user of the IP address had been a very bad person. The ISP is off investigating how an address can be blocked in a DNS and testing to make sure no one else gets until the issue is resolved. I obtained a new address and everything is working fine again.
