I have an ASG220 running 6.004. I do not have a license for e-mail protection because I use a Barrcuda Networks AntiSpam Firewall for our e-mail protection. (Another Linux appliance that I love and recommend highly.) We have a local ISP who has webmail access, but the webmail does not work with the Astaro Proxy server, or any proxy server for that matter. So as an alternative I have been giving my users who have these webmail accounts access to their mail through pop3 and Outlook Express.
I am trying to filter out almost all attachments from pop3 e-mail, but the extension filter does not seem to work.
Do I need e-mail protection to do file extension filtering? I would hope not. I figured it was just for virus and spam protection.
Am I placing the correct entries into the file extension filter list? It seems I cannot use regexp in the list because anytime I try to add one it tells me "entry is not a valid file extension". So I just added "exe" and "com" for tests, but these files are not filtered out and delivered to the local pop3 clients.
Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help,
Paul.
