How to use the sender blacklist as blackhole?

Hi ,
We are using an Astaro 5.206. Thousands of emails are coming as ‘delivery failures’ to us. The sender address is faked. So it seems that someone of our domain has sent the email. The blacklist of the Astaro just bounces a message. Is it possible to drop every message that come from outside and have the sender domain from our inside domain.

Thanks for help!

Best regards,

Thor

  • Hello,

I used to have BATV activated, but I disabled it after several Mailservers refused to accept mails from our Astaro, because they used "sender verify callout" and verified the sender-adresses with the "PRVS-signature" (prvs=fred/0744abcdef@abuse.net). Of course, our Astaro told the verifying mailserver: "No that address doesn't exist."

Is that a bug in Astaro's SMTP-Proxy? Shouldn't it remove the PRVS-signature before asking our internal mailserver, if the address exists? (I mean it should ask:
    "Does the address fred@abuse.net exist?"
    instead of:
    "Does the address prvs=fred/0744abcdef@abuse.net exist?"

Or is that an error in the implementation of some of the external mailservers?
