after stop and start the pop3-Proxy works again

Hi,

we use several Astaro V 5.206 systems. Now, on two systems there are problems
with the pop3 proxy. The proxy is with virus-protection.

The mail-client couldn’t connect to the server. The same with telnet on port 110!
After stop and start the proxy, the system works again. Perhaps for half an day or
only for 10 minutes!

How I can find where the problem is?

after updating to 5.206 we have the same problem. even though the pop3-proxy works longer, we never know when its gone and it seems that the supervising process doesn't catch it, too in order to restart the proxy.

We had the same problem and it was fixed in version six.

I am using version 6.001 and I can't get the pop proxy restarted. It stopped a few days ago. Rebooting doesn't work, nor does disabling virus and spam filtering.

the pop3 log is full of the following
"MrPopper: push back a content filter"

Can you restart the service from the command line?

now, wie have the problem on 3 ASL 5.x. I think it's time for astaro to solve the problem!

Is there any other solution? As far as i know an upgrade to asl6 requires a clean install. I've only remote access to our astaro boxes for the next days.

I am having the same problem described above. Mail proxy will quite answering requests. If I restart the POP3 proxy it works fine for as little as 5 minutes and as long as a day.

We used to get "POP3 Daemon not running, restarted". No changes whatsoever to the firewall and now I don't get those messages anymore, the proxy just quits working.

What could have changed? No updates at all. No one even logged in to the firewall.

I read in another thread that Astaro is aware . . . any updates on this?

Oh ya, we run 5.206 on a PII 300. It has always worked just fine . . . till now.
