SMTP Proxy on 6.0.0.1 not accepting e-mail

Previously been using Astaro 5 very successfully with no problems, upgraded to 6 to take advantage of the improved routing, but can't seemingly get the SMTP proxy to accept incoming mail.

If I disasble the proxy and forward all STMP traffic to the internal Exchange Server all works great.

If I use the zonedit SMTP test utility I get the following:

OK, connected to **.**.**.**...
 HELO edit.dnsvr.com
 MAIL FROM:
 RCPT TO:
 DATA
 From: *@***.co.uk
> To: *@***.co.uk
> Subject: ZoneEdit Automated SMTP Test (**.**.**.**)

> If you received this, then the mail server (**.**.**.**) is probably working.

  • Try using the SMTP-Proxy without the anti-spam feature, not the nicest idea I know...
I have the same problem, contacted Astaro support, they are working on a solution.
  • Sorted!!

Turned out I had somehow managed to enter the backspace character (ascii 0x9) into one of the spam whitelist domains. Once I retyped it, all was okay!

Even when I disable spam prevention it was still erroring.

Note to Astaro: Don't allow invisible characters in this field!!!
