Pop-Proxy abnormal behaviour?

hi there,

since a few weeks we receive emails from asl within the message "pop3 daemon not running - restarted". 

the thing that makes me wondering (and posting) is that we got this message every night the same time.

has anybody experience with this behaviour? and is it possible to trigger this from the external?

    5.023 is an old version. I highly recommend to update to the newest V5 (5.206) or V6 (6.001). In these versions the POP3 proxy should be very stable.

    Hello Xeno!

    I have the same problem with a ASG120 and v6.001. Since the last two day´s, I got a lot of "pop3 daemon not running" error-messages. I restarted the firewall. But without success. The error comes renewed. In the last two weeks before, the ASG120 (with v6.001) runs without any errors.

    In the 'POP3 proxy live log' are (with a permanent loop) the following lines:

    Has anybody a idea because of the line '... MrPopper: Critical error: basic_string::_M_check'?

    "weed" is the content filter framework (virus protection, expression filter, ...). Is virus scanning working for http proxy and SMTP proxy? Or is there a similar error? Maybe there is a general problem related to the content filter framework which is used by several proxies also the pop3 proxy.
